ISHA retains PIMSS and takes on asbestos module

Islington and Shoreditch Housing Association (ISHA) has signed a new three year contract with PIMSS Data Systems (PIMSS) to retain its asset management software to manage its portfolio of properties. As part of the new deal, the housing organisation has purchased the asbestos module, a fully integrated feature of the PIMSS Asset Management system.

The new contract, which commenced on 1 January 2018, was agreed following a thorough evaluation of other asset management and asbestos systems on the market. The review, undertaken following wholesale staff changes at ISHA, identified that the PIMSS application was best suited to their needs for asset management and had superior functionality when evaluated against comparative products.

ISHA is a community and neighbourhood based housing organisation managing and developing quality, affordable housing for people in North and East London and building more homes in Hackney, Islington and Waltham Forest. The organisation, which currently manages over 2,000 homes, consists of Islington and Shorditch Housing Association with subsidiaries being Lien Viet Housing Association and Urban Style Ltd.

Since the beginning of the year, the asbestos module has been implemented and all data cleansed and uploaded to the system. PIMSS has undertaken training on the asset management system and made updates to the stock condition survey form.

All staff now understand the application’s full capability and ISHA has a single view of all its housing stock from a central database which offers the ability to manage risk, compliance and auditing.

Dawn Harrisson, Head of Customer Homes at ISHA comments: “We have identified our Asset Management Strategy for 2015 to 2020 and this sets out a strategic framework in which we will maintain, manage and invest in our housing assets. We aim to deliver capital investment, planned and cyclical maintenance, repairs to empty properties and responsive repair programmes in a structured and sustainable way. The PIMSS system will play a vital role in helping us to achieve this vision.”

Martin McDonnell, Managing Director at PIMSS Data Systems comments: “ISHA provides a high quality, local service and an asset management system plays an important role in delivering this. We have as great deal of experience working with smaller housing associations and clearly understand the unique challenges they face. We are delighted to continue our relationship with ISHA and will work closely with them and continue to help them deliver their strategic asset management plan.”
